Existing Health & Safety Practices

Health & Safety First!
Our centers continue to follow our existing stringent health and safety protocols, including:

-
Requiring any children or staff with respiratory illness symptoms or fever of 100.4 to return home and stay home until fever free for at least 72 hours
-
Frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of high-touch toys and surfaces
-
Frequent handwashing by children and staff, which is embedded in our curriculum and daily staff protocols
-
Training teachers on common signs of illness in children, and placing signage in every classroom to keep signs of illness top of mind
-
Daily laundering of crib sheets for infants; for older children, individual cots and blankets are provided for each child and laundered weekly
-
Continuous health & safety training for Franchise Owners and staff, including first aid and CPR certification
-
Maintaining an up-to-date and customized Safe School Plan posted in all classrooms for easy teacher access
-
In most states, ensuring lower teacher-student classroom ratios than required by the state

During this time of enhanced concern, each Franchise Owner and their School Leadership Team are continuing to stay up-to-date with the latest state and local guidelines, licensing requirements, and CDC guidelines regarding the safety and well-being of your child. With a clear appreciation of the trust you place in them, local Franchise Owners commit to follow APK!’s stringent health and safety requirements as well as to meet or exceed the guidelines from local and state officials.

Our schools have also implemented enhanced procedures to limit the spread of COVID-19 and are frequently communicating with families and staff to convey the enhanced measures in place within their school.

Enhanced Health & Safety Practices
Depending on the circumstances and guidance by local and state officials, enhanced procedures above normal health and safety protocols may include:

-
Limiting the people who enter the building to current team members and enrolled families only
-
Further reducing student-to-teacher ratios and eliminating combining children from different classrooms
-
Temperature checks for children and staff

-
Increased frequency of hand washing
-
Increased sanitation of frequently touched surfaces and toys
-
Limiting use of playground equipment to one classroom at a time and disinfecting playground equipment before and after each use
